This episode is about physicality and how we deal with pain or limitation. Andrew talks about a skit he imagined at the cafeteria of the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake and from there we really get into examining the relationship we have to our bodies, especially when they aren't working the way they're “supposed” to.
Andrew and I had actually been talking earlier that morning, while he was on his way to his appointment at the Cancer Center – about how to make the show feel more natural... and we both decided we wanted it to be more about what was really going on for us, instead of just bringing material that we thought would make the other laugh, think or cry.
I didn't know we would test out the new format so soon, but a few hours later Andrew texted. He was like, "okay, I'm ready, can you record in fifteen minutes?" I had to leave by 2:15 to get Eyvindr and it was around 12:45 but that was basically perfect timing we both jumped in to Riverside to record without any prep beforehand.
